Please excuse the cross-postings. . .

The pre-registration deadline for the Midwest Archives Conference's upcoming Annual Meeting, "MAC in Bloom," is fast approaching: It's next Monday, April 3! Get your registration postmarked by that date and save $$ (only $50 for MAC members, $60 for non-members and $35 for students - what a deal!!), and reserve your spots for tours, workshops and other events. A printable registration form, along with an on-line program and everything else you need to know about the meeting, is on the web at www.midwestarchives.org/illinois <http://www.midwestarchives.org/illinois> .

The meeting itself, held April 27-29, in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois, will include all the workshops, tours, sessions and networking events that have built MAC's reputation as a leader among archival professional organizations nationwide, It'll have something for everyone in the fields of archives, special collections librarianship, conservation, public history and museum work. Be sure to join us - it'll be well worth your while!

Content highlights include workshops on oral history, preserving scrapbooks, and outreach; a plenary session by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Leon Dash; a tour of the Lincoln Presidential library in nearby Springfield, Illinois; and sessions on small museum development, preserving the history of Midwestern Latinos, the lending of rare research items, and many others! Of course, this is in addition to the other great tours, gatherings and events that make the MAC Annual Meeting so important.

Come and see what MAC veterans have long known: The professional development experience and value provided by a MAC meeting is hard to beat! Hope to see you in Illinois a month from now for MAC in Bloom!
