The Content Production Specialist creates content based on Cincinnati Museum Center's (CMC) rich collection of materials, as well as makes accessible collections, exhibits, and programming through electronic means. The focus is on creating content derived from CMC's collections and intellectual property as well as increasing availability and utility of CMC content through electronic means, and as such this is a content position and is not substantially a marketing position. This position has both a creative aspect and a technical aspect. The ideal candidate would have skills in both areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and advance CMC's online exhibit devoted to the history, restoration, and architecture of Union Terminal.*
Create web exhibits on a variety of history and natural history topics.*
Write blog posts based on programs, exhibits, and collections.*
Create videos and other electronic content derived from and based upon CMC's experts, collections, exhibits, and programming. Such content would include creative combinations of content and data in new forms (e.g. "mashups", combinations of applications and data in novel ways). *
Assist the Manager of Content Informatics in the maintenance, administration, and advancement of the collections systems.*
Participate in and contribute to a healthy and collaborative working environment in a spirit of cooperation with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.*
Solve problems creatively when needed, always with a high degree of integrity and ethics.*
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communication, English, history, science, archaeology, museum studies, computer science, electronic media, or a directly related field combined with equivalent knowledge and experience. Strong preference shall be given to candidates with educational and/or professional backgrounds in the museum fields or the disciplines above.
2 years documented experience creating content, preferably with museum collections and exhibits.
Proficiency with social media.
Orientation to detail and accuracy, excellent organization, good judgment, ability to efficiently proofread, excellent research skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment with frequent interruptions.
Demonstrated ability to respond to change and conflict in a positive and productive manner.
Demonstrated personal competencies: analytical thinking, continual learning, improvement of processes and procedures, decision making, solving problems, providing motivational support, and the use and management of technology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preference will be given to applicants with competencies with any of the following: Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal, PHP, Cuadra STAR, KE Emu/Imu, Google Earth, Google Sketchup, other mashup techniques and tools, video creation tools.
Experience creating web pages, understanding of the principles of good web design, experience with data conversion and cleanup
An upbeat attitude and a passion for culture, humanities, and science.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
Physical requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Position is full time. Occasional evening and weekend hours required may be required but would be only occasional. Strong preference shall be given to applicants who submit salary history and/or salary requirements.
