Folks,

If you have been wondering about this OhioDIG you've been hearing about, wonder no more.

The Ohio Digitization Interest Group, a grassroots discussion group, has been around since 2005. There was a gap in meetings between summer 2009 through fall 2013, but since November 2013 we have been meeting every other month in the Columbus area.

Upcoming meeting topics will include digital preservation, what do users want, and copyright. Past topics have included AV digitization, lessons learned while migrating platforms, and newspaper digitization. The free meetings are announced through the OhioDIG List (sign up from the website) and "sell out" quickly.

Attendees come from a wide range of institutions (academic, public library, government, museum, historical society, private) and experiences (from just interested to expert).

Another great resource is the excellent online calendar that Marcus Ladd has created for us of "events in Ohio, or nearby, to do with digitization and digital preservation."
