      The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is actively seeking an Archivist.  This person will be responsible to identify, collect, arrange, describe and preserve records in the archives; produce/create/procure a user-friendly electronic catalog that uses broad search techniques along with an electronic image collection system ensuring preservation and accessibility of the collection (i.e. scanning, digital photographs, etc.).  Other responsibilities include:  providing access to the collection for Archdiocesan offices, parishes & qualified scholars; performs outreach to other local archives, libraries and historical institutions to increase awareness of the Archdiocesan collection.

      Candidate should possess a Master’s Degree in Public History, Archives Management or Library Science (the latter with specialization in Archives Management), one to two years professional experience in archives management, work experience in diocesan, parish or other religious organization setting, a self-starter with a passion for history and archival work and a desire to serve the Church, to preserve her history and to work collaboratively with those who utilize the resources at the Archives.
