The Midwest Archives Conference is pleased to announce its
upcoming Annual Meeting, "MAC in Bloom," April 27-29, 2006 in
Bloomington/Normal, Illinois.

With MAC's new theme-based, content-heavy symposium format debuting this
fall, the spring meeting will be the one event each year that combines
the workshops, tours, sessions and networking events that have built
MAC's reputation as a leader among archival professional organizations
nationwide--and a real bargain besides! This spring's Annual Meeting has
something for everyone in the fields of archives, special collections
librarianship, conservation, public history and museum work. Be sure to
come--it’ll be well worth your while!

Content highlights include workshops on oral history, preserving
scrapbooks, and outreach; a plenary session by Pulitzer
Prize-winning-author Leon Dash; a tour of the Lincoln Presidential
library in nearby Springfield, Illinois; and sessions on small museum
development, preserving the history of Midwestern Latinos, the lending of
rare research items, and many others! Of course, this is in
addition to the other great tours, gatherings and events that make the
MAC Annual Meeting so important. Up-to-date conference information,
committee contacts, an on-line program and a printable registration form
is all available at the meeting Web site:
