Wittenberg University seeks a dynamic, service-oriented Technical
Services/Archives Librarian. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services,
the successful candidate will administer the integrated library system;
oversee (with the Head of Technical Services) the University’s archives
and special collections; supervise copy cataloging and materials
processing; perform complex cataloging of monographs, serials, AV,
electronic resources and cataloging and processing of special collections
as needed; share in instruction and reference liaison to academic
departments, and collection development; participate in working on the
reference desk (evenings and weekends).<br><br>
Required: ALA accredited Master's Degree and a minimum 1-3 years recent
cataloging experience, preferably in an academic setting; demonstrated
experience working with an integrated library system (Innovative
Interfaces, Inc. preferred), experience with standard cataloging software
and computer applications, and bibliographic utilities such as OCLC.
Experience in professional standards, including AACR2r, USMARC formats,
authorities format, LC classification, LCSH. Ability to work in a team
setting in a dynamic environment. <br><br>
Preferred: Familiarity with archival description; knowledge of other
metadata standards such as Dublin Core and/or EAD. Demonstrated ability
to prioritize, plan, coordinate and implement multiple projects.
Experience in providing Reference and information literacy services,
including class instruction. Interest in government documents and
educational media considered a plus. Reading knowledge of a second
language and second Master’s degree.<br><br>
