Managing even the most acclaimed
collections in the context of regional and global advances in discovery creates
tensions around access, use and long-term preservation. The need to
continually balance local needs and budgetary constraints with the demands of a
global, online research community drives creative new thinking around classic
management challenges. In this presentation, Richard Ovenden will share insights
and aspirations around the management of one of the world’s greatest assets: the
special collections of the Bodleian Library.
