His responsibilities include overseeing the curatorial staff, registrar’s office, cataloging unit & digital services unit of the institution and, as a result, he has played a key role in several disaster mitigation projects at OHS. Jason is the project director of Ohio Memory, a collaborative digital library that includes 360 libraries, historical societies and museums; he is co-director for the Ohio Newspaper Digitization Project, Ohio’s contribution to the Library of Congress’s Chronicling America project. Jason studied Anthropology at Ohio University, received his MLIS from Kent State University, and is a 2011 graduate of the Seminar for Historical Administration.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><u>Mark Briggs</u> joined The Ohio State University (OSU) as Chief Risk Officer in 2011. In this position, Mark is responsible for centralized compliance, enterprise risk management, insurance management, business continuity, and related operations. Prior to joining OSU, Mark served as the vice president of Safety Management Resources for seven years and as risk manager for the University of Illinois for ten years.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Mr. Briggs earned a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University where he also served as an adjunct professor. He has earned the designations of Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM). He is an instructor for FEMA’s <i>Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Higher Education</i> and for the Department of Labor/OSHA. Mr. Briggs has completed numerous projects for FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Education.
