<p class="MsoNormal">Extended Deadline for Applications to the Archives Leadership Institution 2013<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In an effort to more align our deadline time with previous ALI application deadlines, applications will now be accepted until January 4, 2013. A complete application package will contain the application, a CV or resume, a Statement of
Purpose, and a nominating letter. The application and instructions can be downloaded from the website http://www.luther.edu/archivesleadershipinstitute/.

<p class="MsoNormal">Tuition for the Institute is $500 and covers the cost of the program, lodging and most meals. Transportation will be provided for participants by the Institute from the Rochester, MN, airport. A number of travel and tuition scholarships
will be available on the basis of need and the scholarship application is also available on the website.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The 2013 Archives Leadership Institute will be held June 16-22, 2013, at Luther College. The Institute provides advanced training for a cohort of 25 emerging and innovative leaders, giving them the knowledge and tools to transform the
archival profession in practice, theory and attitude. The ALI program consists of five elements: a week-long residential Leadership Intensive held at Luther College; a focused practicum project; a practices workshop held in conjunction with the SAA Annual
Meeting; global group projects with ALI alumni; and access to the ALI Salon, a series of discussion forums reserved for ALI cohorts and alumni.

<p class="MsoNormal">The Archives Leadership Institute is supported by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the granting agency of the National Archives and Records Administration. The NHPRC supports projects that promote
the preservation and use of America's documentary heritage and the continuing development of professional skills for archivists, records managers and historical editors. First funded in 2008, the Archives Leadership Institute seeks to bring to tomorrow's leaders
the insights and understanding necessary for increasing public use and appreciation of archives.<o:p></o:p></p>
