Please contact<span style='font-size:9.0pt;color:#1F497D'> </span><a href="mailto:jjindra@rio.edu">jjindra@rio.edu</a> for further info and if you can help. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The Madog Center for Welsh studies is assisting The Welsh-American Heritage Museum in finding a professional museum archivist to assist with an archival program, specifically, preparation of historic preservation plans.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The Welsh-American Heritage Museum, in Oak Hill, Ohio, has a broad collection of Bibles, books, newspapers, photographs, floor plans, and historical tools/objects relevant to the immigration of Welsh settlers to the area of Oak Hill/Gallia/Jackson. Established in 1973, the museum is the former Oak Hill Welsh Congregational Church, built in 1841. Annual Welsh events take place at the historic site, from the most recent 139<sup>th</sup> Gymanfa to the Advent Carol sing, held in December each year.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The curator of the museum resigned from her duties in the summer of 2012, and the museum’s Board of Trustees is interested in starting a plan to appropriately archive the materials housed in the museum. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>With the new grant funding opportunity from the Ohio Historical Society, the ”History Fund Grant”, the Museum is hopeful to obtain funds to aid in this effort. If you know of anyone who specializes in historic preservation planning or feasibility studies, we would like to contact them in order to determine the cost associated with hiring an appropriate person to complete the project.
