<p>On March 4, the Obama administration released its <a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget" target="_blank">fiscal year (FY) 2015 budget request</a>. Because of the two-year budget agreement passed by Congress, the administration has little flexibility to adjust priorities within the overall budget. The National Coalition for History (NCH) has created a chart showing the budgets of all major federal agency programs affecting history, archives and education. <p>The National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) recently issued proposed new guidelines that will make significant changes in its grant making process. In response to requests by affected stakeholders, the NHPRC has extended the comment period until March 31, 2014.
