WSU seeks applications for a full-time Archivist to provide access to historical documents and<br>
information by managing and providing reference services in manuscript collections, local government<br>
records, and university records. Manage all media requests, including use agreements, rights, and fee<br>
schedule. Coordinate, develop, and participate in departmental outreach activities such as tours,<br>
exhibits, class instruction programs, presentations, and social media presence. Required: M.A. Public<br>
History, History, or A.L.A. accredited M.L.S./M.L.I.S. with graduate level education, training, in archival<br>
theory, practice, and technology. One year of archival experience (graduate level experience accepted).<br>
Experience providing research and reference services in special collections and archives. Experience in<br>
archival outreach including: classroom instruction and community engagement. Preferred: Strong<br>
research skills. Knowledge of basic office software and database use. Ability to work independently and<br>
collaboratively. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Interest and/or classroom study in<br>
aviation history and local and regional history. Experience executing image use agreements and basic<br>
knowledge of media rights management. Experience with promoting archival collections and historical<br>
content via social media. Exhibit design and installation skills. Special Collections and Archives has<br>
earned international respect for its efforts to collect, preserve, and make available the history of<br>
aviation, the local and regional history of the Miami Valley of Ohio, and the university’s history. Home to<br>
the largest Wright Brothers Collection in the world, the papers of local political figures and parties, local<br>
government records, records of civic and religious organizations, the arts, business and industry,<br>
personal and family papers, and the Dayton Daily News Photo Archive, the WSU archives is dedicated to<br>
providing access and exemplary research services for the campus community, the local community, and<br>
the world. Grade school students, filmmakers, engineers, family history researchers, aircraft restoration<br>
enthusiasts, community historians, journalists, authors, and scholars worldwide use the collections each<br>
