<h3>University Archives Migration Project Assistant<o:p></o:p></h3>
<p><strong>Description:</strong> <span style="font-size:7.5pt">Term-appointment for two years. Assists with various projects to improve access to University Archives collections. Updates, creates, and publishes description for archival collections utilizing
 Describing Archives: A Content Standard (DACS) and Ohio State University Libraries’ (OSUL) guidelines for archival description. Performs clean-up activities on archival collections, including researching collection history, re-housing collections, and other
 light processing activities. Responsible for inventorying and rehousing A/V materials (primarily film and video cassettes) in several identified collections. Will assist with in-process physical inventory management projects. All projects will heavily utilize
 Archivists’ Toolkit and other computer-based metadata management tools in use by OSUL. Works under the general supervision of the University Archives Migration Coordinator, in consultation with the Special Collections Processing Manager and the University
 Archivist. Consults and collaborates with others throughout the library as appropriate. May perform other duties as assigned.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family:"inherit",serif">Required Qualifications:</span></strong><span style="font-size:7.5pt"> Bachelor’s or education/experience equivalent; demonstrated familiarity with special collections or archival materials; experience writing
 and editing archival description using DACS; strong attention to detail; effective oral/written/interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently. Frequently works in archival storage conditions where temperatures are approximately 62 degrees
 F; must be able to lift 40 lbs. and push carts weighing up to 80 lbs. Will be trained to operate a mechanical lift and will work at heights up to 30 ft.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:7.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Desired Qualifications:</span></strong><span style="font-size:7.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Experience processing archival collections; prior experience in the handling and description
 of A/V formats; experience creating and editing EAD (Encoded Archival Description); experience using an archival collection management system.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
