            Alert:</strong> On September 14, the U.S. House of
          Representatives passed legislation <a
href="http://aaslh.site-ym.com/link.asp?e=fogarty@aaslh.org&job=3085597&e=bain@ohio.edu&job=3090298&ymlink=161686426&finalurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Econgress%2Egov%2Fbill%2F115th%2Dcongress%2Fhouse%2Dbill%2F3354"><span
              style="color:#4a773c;">H.R.3354</span></a> by a vote of
          211-198. It provides $1.23 trillion for the omnibus fiscal
          year 2018 spending package and, regarding cultural
          institutions, and is in opposition to the White House’s 2018
          budget proposal. While the victory in the House of
          Representatives is encouraging, the legislation still needs to
          pass in the Senate. <a
