<p><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Accessioning Assistant supports the work of the Accessioning and Processing Program in the Archival Description & Access Department at Ohio State University Libraries, with a primary focus on accessioning
 new archival materials arriving in the unit and maintaining or updating existing archival description records for these materials. Completes accession records documenting contents, conditions, and features of new acquisitions; inventories contents; creates
 or edits archival collection records; and ensures materials receive appropriate housing. Follows and applies DACS, archival theory, and local documentation consistently across collections to ensure all work meets standards of archival best practice. Determines
 work appropriate for student assistants; provides instruction, supervision, and feedback on student work. Completes archival processing for designated collections. Participates in unit quality control program for archival description.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
