this year’s Ohio Open Doors to be a virtual showcase. We invite you to create an event about your place that you can share remotely.

In addition to hosting virtual content from the full range of historic places and special landmarks, this year, we’d like to especially highlight Ohio’s unparalleled collection of historic theatres and opera houses. This will be a powerful anchor for the whole
Ohio Open Doors website and give a much<b>-</b>needed boost to historic performance venues that are struggling this summer. If you’re not sure how to approach this year’s event, why not focus on the theater or opera house in your town?<b><o:p></o:p></b></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">While the focus this year is historic theaters and opera houses, you don’t have to be one to virtually host a great Ohio Open Doors event.
<b>Archives</b> can participate by sharing behind-the-scenes video tours of notable holdings and digital collections,
<b>museums</b> can feature cool objects not currently on exhibit and hosts with <b>
archaeological collections</b> can showcase aspects of the 15,000 year+ story of human habitation of what we now call Ohio.

of Ohio Historical Markers in your county or community are also great ideas for Ohio Open Doors events. Participants can enjoy most markers from the comfort and socially-distant safety of their cars. They can read the texts of markers using their smart phone

new data system to guide our decisions. You will determine whether to host your in-person, outdoor event during Level 3. If a county reaches Level 4, the Ohio History Connection may require the event’s cancellation..
