Society of Ohio Archivists (SOA) is pleased to announce five scholarships
available to students (2 awards), and new archival professionals (2 awards)
with three years or less experience in the workplace. The final scholarship,
the Ohio Preservation Council Student/New Professional Scholarship, is available
to either students or new professionals.</span><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:13.5pt;line-height:107%;font-family:Garamond,serif">The
scholarship consists of registration to the SOA Annual Meeting (including
lunch), a one-year membership to SOA, and a $100 travel stipend. Awardees are
required to submit a photograph and write about their experience for
publication in the Ohio Archivist newsletter. The winner of the OPC Scholarship
will also submit their write-up to the OPC and may choose to present about their
experience at an OPC quarterly meeting.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:13.5pt;line-height:107%;font-family:Garamond,serif"> Applications should include the following
information:</span></p>

e-mail address.</span></p>

and academic program;</span></p>

employer and number of years working within the field;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:13.5pt;line-height:107%;font-family:Garamond,serif">* Description about how the meeting will
benefit the applicant professionally;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:13.5pt;line-height:107%;font-family:Garamond,serif">* Brief description of the applicant's
scholarship and contribution to archives. This will be taken into consideration
along with the applicant's number of years in the field or academic study;</span></p>

the Society of Ohio Archivists strongly urges that all registrants wear a mask
regardless of vaccine status. While masks are not required by Columbus Metropolitan
Library, we strongly suggest they be worn, especially when in crowded rooms,
for the health and safety of our community. The Society of Ohio Archivists will
continue to monitor CDC guidelines, Columbus Metropolitan Library policies, and
the City of Columbus mandates. Public health measures are changing rapidly, and
SOA will continue to evaluate and update these protocols to be in-line with
recommended standards as we get closer to the event. Please check back
