  /4casting technologies that could have an impact on public libraries.///

Want to know what others are saying online about you or your library?
Reputation management can be made easier with one or more of these products:

    * tweetbeep <http://tweetbeep.com/>- It's like Google Alerts for
      Twitter! If you love Twitter, you'll love TweetBeep! Keep track
      of conversations that mention you, your products, your company,
      anything, with hourly updates! You can even keep track of who's
      tweeting your website or blog, even if they use a shortened URL
      (like bit.ly or tinyurl.com). Now, how cool is that?!

    * Icerocket <http://www.icerocket.com/>- Searches the popular social
      networking websites including blogs, Tweets, news, images etc. all
      from one page.
    * twazzup <http://www.twazzup.com/>- A real-time Twitter analytics
      service that displays a lot of data about any given keyword, as
      well as a list of the most influential Twitter users that use this
      keyword.

    * socialmention <http://socialmention.com/>- Real-time social media
      search and analysis

Spotting posts where you are mentioned allows you to thank the people
who say nice things about you. It will also give you the ability to
respond to negative comments so you can spin the issue into something
positive.

*/Cool fact!/*
There are many sites that will hep you monitor your online presence.
It's just a matter of trying them out and finding the one easiest for
you. Need more suggestions? Try Collecta <http://www.collecta.com>,
whostalkin <http://www.whostalkin.com> and Pipl <http://pipl.com/>.
Which one do you use?
