Genealogy for Librarians or How to Handle Those Pesky Genealogists

Description:  "Run for the stacks, there's a genealogist coming through the
door!"  This workshop will help you view such a public service opportunity
as a pleasure, instead of a burden. You will learn:

How to handle the approaching genealogist
How to do a Genealogy Reference Interview (How to cut to the Chase!)
What NOT to do when assisting genealogists
Websites to help in genealogy
What to do when your resources just are no help to them
How to get rid of them and close up shop

The speaker, Sandy Day has been the Genealogy Librarian for over 8 years at
PLSJ.  She was formerly a genealogy researcher for over 10 years.  She was
the organizing president of the Jefferson County Chapter of the Ohio
Genealogy Society in 1986 and has served in various capacities since then.
