PAY RANGE (11):	$18.05 per hour-annually $37,544

HOURS OF WORK:	(40) hr. week as set by supervisor between 7:00 a.m. & 	6:00
p.m., M-F.  May work evenings

JOB DUTIES (summary only):  Provides reference and research services and
library user assistance for assigned subject areas, (e.g. genealogy,
reference, documents, etc.) to state employees, government officials and
other library patrons using specialized resources (e.g. computerized
databases, abstracts, historical materials, maps, genealogy collection
materials, indexes, government documents, online catalogs, census records,
microfilm, standard library resources, etc.); answers reference and research
questions and corresponds with library users in person and/or via e-mail,
regular mail, telephone, etc.  Reviews trade and professional publications
in order to select books for the collection or to delete obsolete books from
the collection; assists in identifying and discarding superceded or obsolete
materials and equipment.  Participates with departmental heads in
developing, planning and improving library services; provides
education/training on specialized resources to library users (e.g. state
employees, students, general public, etc.); performs and/or oversees
clerical duties related to library services (e.g. maintaining records,
shelving, preparing reports, etc.); remains current on library trends and
procedures. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree in Library Science from accredited
college or university; one (1) course or three (3) months experience in
library organization &/or administration; 12 months experience as a
reference librarian. -Or alternative, equivalent evidence may apply.
