Good morning,
The OLC Diversity Committee and Technical Services Division are looking for
a few good libraries to help us develop a fun, timely program for OLC Annual
2004. We envision a session to guide libraries through the steps of
planning, implementing and maintaining an international languages
collection, addressing both technical services and public services issues.
If your library has successfully developed a collection in language(s) other
than English, we would like to talk with you. We are ESPECIALLY seeking:
* Small libraries
* Libraries who collect in non-Western scripts (e.g. Chinese, Hebrew,
Russian, Korean)
Ideally, the session will feature teams from three or four libraries,
including a technical services staff member and a public services staff
member from each. Please contact me if you think your library's experience
might help other libraries planning to serve speakers of languages other
than English.
