A Community Book Discussion

Please join us for a discussion of the literary, scientific, ethical and
social implications of Mary Shelley's enduring novel Frankenstein (The
Modern Prometheus).

The panel discussion features a physician, a professor of literature, a
nurse and feminist scholar, a librarian--and you.  Come share your thoughts,
questions, and insights about modern science.

The Prior Health Sciences Library is proud to present the national traveling
exhibit, "Frankenstein: Penetrating the Secrets of Nature." The exhibit
examines Mary Shelley's classic novel Frankenstein and the novel's influence
on scientific research, literature, and popular culture. You can view the
exhibit at the OSU Prior Health Sciences Library--376 W. 10th Avenue--Monday
- Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

 "Frankenstein:  Penetrating the Secrets of Nature," was developed by the
National Library of Medicine, in collaboration with the American Library
Association.  It has been made possible by major grants from the National
Endowment for the Humanities, Washington, D.C., and the National Library of
Medicine, Bethesda, Maryland.

Local support for the book discussion has been provided by Barnes & Noble
Booksellers and the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
