Description: Does your library harbor a hazardous space or environment for
the elderly or disabled patron? How do you identify potential problems and
correct them to provide a safe and healthy environment for all? This
workshop covers two related topics: working with elderly and disabled
patrons and indoor air quality. Part 1 provides an overview of the needs of
seniors and the disabled and the impact of ADA requirements. We will
examine basic facility requirements such as ramps and other accommodations.
Part 2 includes a practice building survey to help you identify potential
indoor air quality problems, security, and safety risks.
Who Should Attend: Administrators, facilities managers, and staff
interested in ADA, accessibility, disaster response planning or indoor air
quality issues
Prerequisite: None
Member Cost: $60
Non-Member Cost: $95 (must prepay)
