Strength in Diversity is a monthly broadcast email featuring a resource,
practice, product, or program that libraries can use to provide more
inclusive library service to all Ohioans.  This idea-sharing resource is an
initiative of the Ohio Library Council's Diversity Awareness and Resources
Committee.

Feature Spotlight:  National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 - October
15, 2003

Library patrons can learn more about Hispanic culture through music,
architecture and art.

The Benson Latin American Collection at The University of Texas Library at
Austin features an online exhibit Border Cultures: Conjunto Music that
includes photos and sound samples.

The National Register of Historic Places is celebrating Hispanic Heritage
Month through featured publications, properties listed in the Historic
Register and National Parks.  Discover South Texas's most luxurious "Mexican
Theatre," learn about the inspiration for the setting of the novel Ramona,
and view one of the most significant examples of Spanish/Mexican vernacular
architecture in the U.S.
