    The board of the Patrick Henry School District Public Library is
searching for an energetic person to assume the position of Director.
The director will be responsible for continuing the present services and
developing quality new programs to increase library service to patrons.

    Minimum qualifications:  a degree in library science or library
media specialist is not required but desirable.  Ten years of library
experience is required or five years if degreed.  Personnel experience
needed.  Grant writing experience is a definite plus.  Starting salary
is commensurate with experience and education.  PERS benefits available.

    Duties include:  supervise staff and set up work schedules; develop
new programs for services to patrons; complete automation program
already started; attend monthly board meetings and report to trustees;
pursue and secure funds through various grant avenues; set up yearly
budget; purchase materials, books, magazines, music, services, etc. for
main library and branches.  Skills include grant locating and writing to
obtain funding; supervise staff and assign duties; hiring of new staff;
knowledge of library filing systems; knowledge of budgeting and
finances; creative thinking; organizational skill; interpersonal
communication skills - oral and written; ability to develop new programs
and lead them to implementation.
