What is a blog and how could this tool be used by your library? More and
more libraries are using blogs to help market programs and services from
publishing online newsletters, library construction news, links or new
resources, and even areas for book discussion groups. Blogging software
is free or inexpensive and easy to learn. Attend this videoconference to
find out how blogs can help you produce instant content for your web
site and market libraries and library services. This session will covers
different types of blogs, popular free and low cost blogging services,
as well as hot new software packages for blogging. It will offer advice
and tips on getting started. Darlene Fichter is Data Library Coordinator
at the University of Saskatchewan Library in Canada, and a frequent
library and IT conference presenter. This program is sponsored in part
through an Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded
by the State Library of Ohio .
