SPRING/SUMMER OVAL BOOKS BY MAIL CATALOG
"A library branch right in your own mailbox!"

The Ohio Valley Area Libraries (OVAL) and the public libraries of Gallia,
Jackson, Ross, and Vinton counties are proud to announce the opening of "new
branches" in mailboxes throughout each county with the availability of the
new Spring/Summer Books by Mail Catalog and Internet Ordering System. All
residents of the above-mentioned counties can use this FREE service!
Residents of Muskingum and Clark counties should contact their local public
library for eligibility requirements.

Enjoy the convenience of a library branch as close as your own mailbox.
Select and order entertaining books from the new Books by Mail catalog in
your home or on the Internet at bbm.oval.lib.oh.us. Books by Mail has an
excellent selection of paperback novels that include mystery, romance,
horror, science fiction, and western titles - some even in large print. You
may also choose from the many biographies and books on health, crime and
crafts. The catalog also lists books for children and young adults. More
than 1,400 books are available FREE through Books by Mail, with ten new
titles added each month!

The Books by Mail service is available to all residents of Gallia, Jackson,
Ross, and Vinton counties. The program’s Internet Catalog and Ordering
System, now being used by hundreds of patrons, received "Honorable Mention"
in the Ohio Public Library Information Network’s (OPLIN) 2002 Award for
Innovation competition. "We have worked to make the Books by Mail program
accessible to everyone in the counties served", says OVAL Director Marion
Cochran, "the award recognizes our continuing efforts to use current
technology to reach those who are limited by such things as disability or
inability to travel or those who just simply want the convenience of
ordering over the Internet". Books by Mail makes it possible for the public
libraries in Gallia, Jackson, Ross, and Vinton counties to reach residents
by opening a branch right in their mailbox.

The latest catalog will soon arrive in the mailboxes of all rural residents
in Gallia, Jackson, Ross, and Vinton counties. If you don’t receive a
catalog in your mailbox, call your local public library or OVAL at
1-800-759-1537, extension #1. Begin using Books by Mail today by going to
the award winning Internet Catalog and Ordering System at
bbm.oval.lib.oh.us!
