Library Ergonomics  Workshop
presented by Beverly Morris, Ergonomics Consultant, Ohio Bureau of Workers'
Compensation

DATE & TIME: Tuesday, August 31, 2004 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Ohio Valley Area Libraries, 252 W. 13th Street, Wellston, Ohio

This workshop will address the following:

  a.. Office/computer workstations (correct workstation heights and
arrangement)
  b.. Scanning operations
  c.. Manual material handling of books
  d.. Drop boxes for books
  e.. Vision related issues
  f.. Air quality
        Specifically, cumulative trauma disorders (what they are, the signs
and symptoms, the importance of early medical treatment and recognition of
the risk factors of the job) and addressing your own library's concerns.

        This workshop will provide one hour of training, one hour of
identifying concerns, and one hour of brainstorming to help devise solutions
for your library.
