Encyclopedia Britannica Workshops

Britannica training is coming to a location near you!  Join us for a
three-hour hands-on workshop in late October or November to take a =
close
look at the new Britannica resources provided by OPLIN.  These include
images, encyclopedias, multimedia and video clips, the Britannica =
Internet
Guide, current magazine articles, and Spanish-language resources.   =
Plus
special features like the "quick click" dictionary, world atlas, =
interactive
timelines, and subject and index browse features.

Learn to utilize the new Britannica options to choose the =
age-appropriate
display for your area.  Britannica also includes teacher resources such =
as
lesson plans, research projects, student activities, assignments and =
more.
Plus, we'll take an in-depth look at OPLIN's collection of primary =
source
documents from Britannica. Workshops will cover Britannica Online,
Britannica Online School Edition, Enciclopedia Universal en Espa=F1ol, =
and
Annals of American History. Training materials will be provided.

Training is sponsored jointly by OPLIN, the State Library of Ohio, and
Encyclopedia Britannica.     Beth Leistensnider of Britannica will =
conduct
the training.  She is an Ohio native and graduate of Miami University =
of
Ohio and the University of Chicago. Ten days of workshops will be held
starting October 19 and running through November 18.   Two three-hour
sessions will be held each day.
