After the very successful test of web-based training
on Sanborn Maps this summer, ProQuest is offering
additional training sessions on Sanborn Maps, Literature
On-Line, and HeritageQuest.

To view the schedule and register for a class, visit
http://placeware.viewcentral.com/reg/proquest/oplin

As I've written before, these are great sessions.
>From the comfort of your office or workroom, you log
into a website at the appointed time, and call up
a telephone conference number. The trainer shows
you how to use the resource, explains what you're seeing
on the screen, and answers your questions. You can
even open another browser window and try your own
searches, with the trainer right there on the phone
to help you out.

The format is perfect for busy reference staff who
can't travel to training workshops and don't have the
time to explore electronic resources on their own.
All you need is an hour off the desk, and you can
pick up an excellent intro to some of the specialized
resources OPLIN provides.

(Questions about the training are welcome, and
feedback is encouraged. Just contact Don Yarman
at yarmando@oplin.org).

            Regards,
                          Don Yarman
