OHIONET Announces a Free Workshop on OCLC Virtual Reference with
QuestionPoint.
Tuesday, March 9th at 10:00 AM at OHIONET in Columbus, OH
Join us for a presentation and demonstration on OCLC's virtual reference and
reference management service - QuestionPoint. OCLC and the Library of
Congress developed the QuestionPoint service- built by librarians for
librarians. QuestionPoint is a unique virtual reference service, that is
supported by a community of cooperating libraries worldwide.
With QuestionPoint, you can:
-Provide new services to your patrons
-Extend your reference services to the web, where many of your patrons
search
-Develop efficiencies in your total reference service workflow
-Collect data on reference services delivered in person, by phone, email and
the web
-Enhance the visibility of your services and your library
-Collaborate with libraries worldwide.
You may choose to start using QuestionPoint for managing current email
reference then build from there. You can add live chat, co-browsing,
application sharing, streaming video and voice over IP communications. The
choices are yours. And with the global cooperative, you can forward
questions to unique libraries around the world and receive answers quickly.
Questions and answers can be captured in the knowledge base to preserve
valuable reference resources provided by your librarians. With QuestionPoint
