--This course is designed to provide the user with the tools necessary to
create professionally customized presentations. Topics include the
automating of presentations through the use of actions buttons, hyperlinks,
and the defining of customized playbacks. The student will learn to utilize
OLE objects, alter backgrounds on a customized level, and prepare their
presentation for delivery off-site.

moderated by D. Christine Hunt, Briggs Lawrence County Public Library
--Come to this special interest group meeting designed specifically for
staff involved with library outreach services and get the opportunity to
discuss issues of concern and share programming ideas. You may bring topics
to the table! The latter half of the discussion will be devoted to sharing
programming ideas. Every participant should bring one or more programming
ideas to share. Bring samples if possible.
At the last meeting, we had several ask about homebound service. If you have
a well-established homebound service, it would be great is you could you
bring samples of pamphlets and registration forms to share with others.

--Get inside the OPLIN research databases with OneSearch. OneSearch lets you
broadcast a single search to multiple resources. The OneSearch subject
clusters can help focus your results and get you the best answers to your
questions. Get a basic overview of OPLIN databases, learn about additional
help and training materials, and find out how your library can make
OneSearch your first stop for information. (Last hour is hands on lab.)
At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:
---Perform searches and view results from OPLIN OneSearch
---Knowledgeably select from the OneSearch subject clusters
---Perform basic follow-up searching in at least 3 OPLIN databases
---Demonstrate OneSearch to other library staff and patrons
---Find additional training materials

CHILDREN'S SERVICES ROUNDTABLE
moderated by Cheryl Blankenship, Briggs Lawrence County Public Library
--Come to this first of what we hope will be many children's services
roundtables! This first roundtable will be held at OVAL in Wellston, Ohio.
We plan to hold future roundtables every 4-6 months throughout OVAL-land in
member library host sites, enabling participants to actually see a variety
of clever children's services setups.
This first roundtable will focus on story hour ideas and crafts. Hostess
Cheryl Blankenship of Briggs Lawrence County Public Library will bring
"lesson plans" she has developed for a series of story hours to share with
participants, providing you with several ideas for your story hours. Each
participant is invited and encouraged to share one or a couple of your
ideas.
