Hamilton County
*Description:*
Mentoring is a process in which a more skilled or more experienced
person, serving as a role model, teaches, sponsors, encourages, counsels
and befriends a less skilled or less experienced colleague. This 2.5
hour workshop will explain the mentoring process currently used with
full-time Librarians at The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton
County. Participants will explore the various stages of development
within the mentoring partnership, the commitment needed on the part of
the mentor, and the evaluation process. A brief portion of this workshop
will be devoted to demostrating the training session which the Public
Library utilizes to prepare potential mentors for the new professional
relationship.
