Position:			Director 

Library/Organization:	Ada Public Library 

City:				Ada, Ohio 

Salary Range:	Starting salary dependent upon qualifications and experience 
of candidate; extensive benefits 

Requirements: 

The Ada Public Library is seeking a well-qualified, energetic director.  The 
Library serves a school district and university community of over 6000 
persons in northwest Ohio.  For 2003, the Library had a square footage of 
5620, a budget of approximately $300,000, an annual circulation of over 
30,000 items, and an FTE staff of 5.39, including an assistant director.  
The director's principal duties include developing the collection, 
technology, and programs, managing the staff, overseeing the facilities, and 
working with various constituencies.  The Library seeks a director with a 
vision for the future, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, 
technological proficiency, a commitment to the community, and an ability to 
work with a dedicated staff to provide excellent customer service.  A 
bachelor's degree and library experience are required.  A master's degree in 
library/information science from an ALA-accredited institution and 
demonstrated library management experience are preferred.
