 A Year in Children's Books

Dr. Carolyn Brodie, Professor, School of Library & Information Science, Kent
State University
--Learn about the most talked about children's books of 2004! Dr. Carolyn S.
Brodie will share the best in picture books, fiction, non-fiction, poetry
and folklore for the past year.  Discussion will additionally focus on
selecting the best in literature, using materials in the library setting and
helpful readers' advisory Web sites.  Individuals will discuss major
children's book contenders for the 2005 children's book awards, including
the Caldecott, Newbery, Siebert and Coretta Scott King.  Participants will
receive free books to take home with them to their library!
