Our library is considering  putting reserved items on designated open
shelves for patrons to pick up themselves.  (We currently hold the items
behind the desk.)  We are interested in hearing from other libraries
that do this.  How do you identify who the items are for so that patrons
can easily pick out their own items?  How do you handle concerns about
privacy? Some of our staff members are concerned that patrons will take
items intended for other patrons.  (Our automated system will tell us
when an item is being held for someone other than the person checking
out the item.)  Any suggestions for workflow would be appreciated.
