Dear Colleagues:

To celebrate the fourth annual "North Coast Neighbors Share a Book" program,
25 public libraries and school media centers have invited best-selling
author Homer Hickam to speak in Cleveland and Akron on Thursday, April 14.  

Our featured book this year is "Rocket Boys," Mr. Hickam's novel-memoir of
his coming of age in a 1950's West Virginia coal mining town.  The "North
Coast Neighbors Share a Book" is a library-led coalition of community
organizations dedicated to promoting the reading and discussion of one book.

All events are free and the public is encouraged to attend. The three major
"Rocket Boys" events are as follows: 

Thursday, February 24 from 5:45 to 8:00 p.m. at the Great Lakes Science
Center.  This program will featured Dr. Kathy Sullivan, the first American
female to walk in space.  The Tom Cruise narrated film, "Space Station,"
will be shown on the center's OMNIMAX screen.

Thursday, April 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the NASA Glenn Research
Center. This program will feature author Homer Hickam. Seats are now being

Thursday, April 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Public
Library.  This program will feature author Homer Hickam.
