No one knows better than Librarians the tremendous public fascination
with "King Tut" among patrons, especially the younger generation. Now
that a new exhibition of trreasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun is
touring the United States, there will be an even greater demand for
information on this ancient Egyptian pharaoh. You will be interested to
know that M. J. Albacete, Executive Director of The Canton (OH) Museum
of Art, has assembled an illustrated lecture of approx. 160 slides
called "The Tomb of Tutankhamun" which vividly depicts the discovery and
excavation of Tut's burial place in Egypt's Valley of the Kings.
Albacete, who assembled a photo-panel exhibition of this discovery back
in the 1970s, is not only hoping to recreate this show, but to publish a
book on the subject as well. He's hand-selected more than 100 photos
from various archives here and abroad, and he's also been to Egypt
and-among other things--visited Tut's tomb.

If you're interested in hosting Mr. Albacete, keep in mind that he
is a member of the Ohio Humanities Council Speakers Bureau, and is well
known throughout Ohio for his various programs on the arts,
architecture, and travel. His other topics include "The Story of the
Statue of Liberty, and "The Sistine Chapel Paintings of Michelangelo."
For further information, you can contact him at The Canton Museum of
