Hi,

I was asked to post a summary of the responses by one of the =
respondents. There were 5 responses. Of those, 2 do not currently =
allow food and drinks in their libraries, but they are thinking about =
it. Another changed their poicy to allow food and drink in the library =
except in the computer areas. So far they report it hasn't really been =
a problem. Another will be offering drinks (coffee, tea, cocoa) from a =
dispenser as part of an expansion. They will require lids on the =
containers. The last response was from a library that has a cafe area =
where patrons can bring their food. The library does not provide food =
and drinks. Patrons may look at materials while they have their =
food/drinks in the cafe. They report no problems with the cafe in terms =
of extensive cleanup or damage to materials, however, the after school =
crowd wants to eat other places and leave trash where they have eaten.

Thanks very much to those of you who replied.
