      Time

Moderators for this session are Rick Helmes and Phyllis Hegner.

Rick Helmes
Press Officer, Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County
Rick has worked for over 28 years in public relations at the Public
Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County. As a Library that presents over
15,000 programs each year, the Public Relations Department is always
looking for new and innovative ways to market their new services and
events.

Phyllis Hegner
Assistant Manager, Public Relations Department, Public Library of
Cincinnati and Hamilton County
Phyllis has had a wide and varied career, including working for Orange
Frazier Press, Inc. in Wilmington, Ohio, as well as authoring her own
book, Face Value: Cincinnati's Handbook to Discount Shopping. She has
also been published in Ohio Libraries Magazine, and was instrumental in
the Library's 150th anniversary book published in 2003, Free & Public:
150 Years at the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County 1853-2003.

      Description

Have you often felt as if your efforts to promote your library, its
programs, and events have been overlooked by the media?

Would you like some fresh ideas on innovative and unique ways to get
your message out?

Did you know that there are many other venues, all FREE, that you can
use to spread the word?

Do you often feel frustrated when you've put a great deal of effort and
work into a promotion, only to be disappointed by the results?

Then plan on attending this informal discussion with your colleagues,
led by two public relations professionals from the Public Library of
Cincinnati and Hamilton County and share promotion ideas with your
colleagues.
