Position:  Library Director
Library:  McComb Public Library
City:  McComb, OH
Available:  Position available November 1, 2006 upon retirement of current
Director

Recommended Qualifications:
* MLS from an ALA-accredited school
* At least two years of supervisory experience
* High standards of customer service
* Excellent communication skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to learn and effectively use computers and other technology as
needed
* Possesses strong leadership and motivational skills
* Flexible in work hours and duties
* Effective interpersonal skills to deal with and work with the public
* Demonstrates good problem-solving and decision-making techniques
* Must be able to travel to professional meetings throughout the state

Responsibilities:
* Administration of personnel policies and staff development
* Building maintenance
* Collection development
* Monitoring and implementing new technologies
* Effective public relations
* Helping with annual budget proposal
* Hires and dismisses library personnel
* Recommends needed improvements in working conditions
* Updating library technology and long-range plans
* Attending Friends of the Library meetings.
* Expected to perform other related duties necessary for operation of the
library

Salary Range:  $31,824 to $37,791 with benefits
