[OPLINLIST] Kent State Library School Announces Award Winners for 2006!

The Kent State University School of Library and Information Science 
(SLIS) is announcing its award winners for 2006---those who have made a 
significant contribution to both the School and to the profession. 

Please mark your calendars:  on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, SLIS will hold 
its annual "Alumni and Friends Awards & Honors" dinner at OCLC (Online 
Computer Library Center) in Dublin, Ohio.

The evening will include an initiation ceremony for the new members of 
Rho Chapter of the Beta Phi Mu honor society at 5:00 p.m.  A social hour 
and reception will be held at 5:45 p.m. in OCLC's Kilgour Atrium 
followed by a dinner at 6:30.  An awards presentation will begin at 7:30 
p.m. in OCLC's Kilgour Auditorium 

 Individuals being honored with awards include the following:

 Martha Regula, Director, National First Ladies' Library:
"Alumna of the Year" Award 

Dr. Carol Cartwright, President, Kent State University:
"Friend of the Year" Award

The featured speaker for the evening is George Needham, Vice President, 
Member Services, OCLC.

*  All alumni of the KSU Library School will receive invitations by mid 
March with more details.
