The Accidental Library Manager

 

The Accidental Library Manager takes a practical look at the skills managers
need to succeed.  It reassures those who came into management accidentally
and those who did not receive adequate training to prepare them for the
challenges of management.  Author Rachel Singer Gordon will help
participants discover how to use existing skills in a management position
without formal training.  She will also discuss what library staff really
want from managers, ways to deal with common personnel problems and how to
reduce the fear factor inherent in being a manager.  Whether new to
management, thinking about management, or long-immersed in a position
without training, you can benefit from this content-rich workshop.
