HR College for Managers

Managing Employee Heath Issues

 

A range of federal and state laws impact the ability of all employers to
deal with employee health concerns.  Understanding the interplay between
these various laws is vital to an employer's success in managing employee
health issues. This half-day seminar will focus on:

 

.  Employee health issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act 

.  Employee health issues under the Family and Medical Leave Act 

.  Understanding Ohio's workers compensation law 

.  Maximizing the effectiveness of light duty/transitional work programs 

.  Determining an employee's fitness for duty 

.  The interplay of the ADA, FMLA, and worker's compensation

 

Presenter: 
Jim Wilkins, Esq is a partner in the law firm Kastner Westman & Wilkins,
LLC. He is an attorney practicing in areas including Arbitration Law,
Affirmative Action, Labor Management, and Equal Employment Opportunity. He
is a member of the Akron and Ohio State Bar Associations. His public sector
clients include state universities, public libraries and school districts.
