Head of Marketing & Communications - Grade 9 (Salaried)


Main Library, 101 W. Main Street, Newark, OH

 

Under the general supervision of the Director, this administrative staff
position manages the communications and marketing functions of the
library.  The Head of Marketing & Communications oversees day-to-day
Library communications, media relations, and public relations.    

 

Salaried (37.5 hrs/week routinely).  The successful applicant will be
required to work the hours necessary to complete the tasks of this
position in a satisfactory manner.

Salary

Begins at $1,460.39 on bi-weekly basis - Grade 9, Step A - with an
increase of one step (approximately 2%) when the probationary period is
successfully completed; however, the appointment will be made
commensurate with the successful applicant's experience and salary
history.   

 

Probationary Period

The first 6 months in this position are considered probationary in
nature.  The successful applicant's performance will be reviewed at 6
months, and if their performance is satisfactory, the employee will
receive a rate increase of one step and their probationary status will
end.  If the employee's performance is not satisfactory, the employee
can be terminated or the probationary period may be extended for a
maximum of three more months, if, in the opinion of the Library, it
seems the employee needs more time to show they can perform at the
expected level.  If the employee's performance is still not satisfactory
at the end of this second probationary period, their employment with the
Library will be terminated.
