The Marysville Public Library Digital Year Book Collection is now available
for patrons to browse and search online 24/7.
www.marysvillelib.org/yearbook.htm This online digital collection contains
more than 9,000 images of "The Key", the Marysville High School yearbook
from 1936-2000. There are a few years "The Key" was not published (1939,
1941-1944).

This is not only a wonderful resource for the casual browser but also the
historic researcher. Increasing public access and preserving our
community's historical documents are just a few of the benefits of this
project. This project will allow individuals to both browse and search the
full text of these yearbooks from home, office or in the library.
Digitizing the yearbooks ensures that these documents will be appreciated
and available to future generations. Sue Kienbaum, Marysville Public Library
Reference Assistant has worked for several months scanning the yearbook
images for this project. ."Not only is digitizing printed material, such as
our yearbook collection, a necessary preservation method; it also brings
geographically isolated collections to the entire world. Books tend to
deteriorate with time or can be destroyed by fire, water or disasters.
Digitizing the yearbooks is an excellent preventative measure. Just in
case."

The MHS Digital Yearbook Collection is part of the Photohio.org collection.
The Union County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, the Union County
Historical Society, and the Maryville Public Library funded this project.
This project would not have been possible without the Marysville Alumni
Association providing access to missing volumes and Marysville Public
Schools granting the library copyright permission earlier this year. "This
project is a great example of local organizations working together to better
serve our community." Ryan McDonnell, Director Marysville Public Library.
