Register by this Friday, Feb. 23 for the following youth services 
workshop to be offered in Cincinnati at the Public Library of Cincinnati 
and Hamilton County.  The workshop is offered through the KSU School of 
Library and Information Science and the College of Continuing Studies.

Library Programming for Families with Very Young Children

Library Programming for Families with Very Young Children*
Participants in this workshop will be introduced to the important role 
family members can play in the emerging literacy skills of young 
children. Library programs for the entire family will be discussed, 
including family history, multicultural, and intergenerational programs 
as well as family storytime programs and storytelling techniques. In 
addition, participants will learn to relate the developmental 
characteristic of young children to program planning and book sharing 
and will learn to plan literature-based family programs and methods of 
outreach to families of special populations.
