Description
Today's information professionals face highly complex scenarios that
call for critical decision making every day. Factors affecting
information centers include the following:
* Tight budgets and streamlined staffs
* Little time
* Shifting business climates
* Changing customer base
* Tremendous variety and complexity of resources
* Need for high value, high impact with each service and resource
/Surveying as a Planning Tool/ seeks to help information professionals
maximize resource and service quality by building a framework to use in
surveying in the information center planning process, and specifically
its application to strategic planning and quality measurement. This
Click U Live! Seminar will provide you with skills to design, develop,
and deliver surveys as well as to become familiar with evaluation and
planning structures that help you make better and more informed
decisions, create a vital and relevant service environment, and allow
for closer alignment with your customers.
*Part 2*
Surveys have limited value without a larger conceptual planning
structure, and in part 2 of this Click U Live! Seminar, you will be
introduced to three of these structures---the Balanced Scorecard, Six
Sigma, and LibQual. With case studies from business and academia, the
use of surveying in each of these structures will be examined, and a
decision flowchart for choosing a structure will be discussed.
*Critical Learning Questions*
* How can surveying help with the planning process?
* What are some of the available surveying tools?
* How do I go about creating, designing, developing, and delivering a
survey?
* In what broader planning structures do surveys work?
* What metrics do these structures share? What metrics are unique?
* How do I choose my structure?
Meal
Light snacks will be provided
Audience
This Click U Live! Seminar is designed as a beginning to
intermediate-level course for managers and information professionals who
want to develop competencies in surveying for strategic planning and
quality measurement. No previous experience in surveying is required.
