serls announces winner of logo contest

Wellston, oh, april 24, 2008:  The Board of Trustees of the Southeast
Regional Library System (SERLS) has selected Mark Palmer as the winner for
their logo contest.  Mark is a 56 year-old displaced steel worker studying
digital media design at Jefferson Community College in Steubenville, Ohio.
His interest in digital media as a second career stems from a love of
photography and manipulating digital images.  He is married with two kids
and four grandchildren. His hobbies include both full scale and radio
controlled model aviation.   

 

SERLS sponsored the contest to obtain branding for the library and to
promote collaborative efforts with schools in the region. Qualified students
had to be enrolled in a graphic arts program (or similar program) at a
college or university located on one of the following Ohio Counties located
in the SERLS region: Athens, Belmont, Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Gallia,
Guernsey, Hocking, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Licking, Meigs, Monroe,
Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Vinton, and
Washington.  As well as fame and bragging rights, Mark received a $100
prize.  The Interactive Digital Media Design department also received $100
and the library will be awarded a free Enhanced Membership for the 2008-2009
membership year. 

 

An honorable mention goes to Levi Carpenter of Otterbein College for his
