      Description

Many researchers use bibliographical software to organize their
citations and to write research papers. Using bibliographical software,
a user can create his personal bibliographical databases, search various
online catalogs, import search results from different online databases,
create general and subject bibliographies, and write a paper with the
function of "cite while you write." Two types of bibliographical
software programs will be introduced in this workshop: EndNote X1 and
RefWorks. EndNote X1 is a local program which a user installs on his
personal computer. RefWorks is an online program for users to subscribe.

Participants will learn to use EndNote X1 during the workshop. Features
of RefWorks will be demonstrated by the workshop instruction. The
benefits a librarian will gain from using the programs will also be
discussed during the workshop.
